Montana Medical Marijuana Industry Sues State

In order to stem the assault on the Montana Medical Marijuana industry that has been taking place during the earlier part of 2011, a lawsuit has been filed to prevent new proposed laws from being instituted.

In response to federal pressure, and what Montana lawmakers call a blatant abuse of the Medical Marijuana system--lawmakers have proposed new legislation which would increase restrictions on the entire industry. Dispensaries would no longer be permitted, and caregivers would be limited to no more than a handful of patients. In addition, recommendations for use would have to be issued by two separate physicians.

The Montana Medial Marijuana community is up in arms about the new legislation, and hope that the judge ruling over the case will see the proposals as a contradiction to the voter approved allowance of Medical Marijuana.

The presiding judge does not have to rule immediately, and his comment regarding the pending case was how the Medical Marijuana legislation would adapt or being affected by his decision.
