Michigan Doctor May Lose Medical License Approving Medical Marijuana Applications
A Detroit physician is accused of issuing hundreds of pre-signed Medical Marijuana Michigan applications.
The 50 year old female physician sold a large quantity of pre-signed applications to a licensed caregiver, who in turn sold them for as much as $250. The presumably illegitimate "patients" were never seen by the physician, and for this, she may lose her medical license permanently.
Michigan Medical Marijuana law requires a physician to sign the application verifying the patient has a qualifying medical condition. The accused physician's medical license was suspended for 10 days, until a formal hearing. The hearing will determine if she is to lose her license forever.
The licensed caregiver was selling the pre-signed applications out of his appliance store, as well as selling marijuana.
