Arizona Medical Marijuana Clubs Under Attack

Arizona Attorney General is asking that the courts close down 3 Arizona Medical Marijuana clubs he claims are acting illegally.

Voters approved Arizona Medical Marijuana law via proposition 203, which is currently being held up by Arizona's governor to ensure that state employees will not face federal prosecution for administering and regulating the Arizona Medical Marijuana industry.

Until Prop 203 is cleared, there is a gap in how medical marijuana may be dispensed to qualified patients. Prop 203 allows for dispensaries, but not until it is cleared. In the meantime, Arizona Medical Marijuana Clubs are springing up to allow a protected forum for caregivers are patients to exchange cannabis. These clubs are allowed to provide this service as long as nothing of value is exchanged for that service.

The Arizona Attorney General is claiming the Arizona Medical Marijuana Clubs in question are in fact charging fees for the service, which would allow them to be prosecuted for state drug charges.
