Arizona Medical Marijuana Application Process Has Strong Start
The Arizona Department of Health began accepting applications from potential medical marijuana patients in the middle of April 2010, and in its first week has seen the start of a legitimate program.
Of the approximately 1,000 applications processed thus far, 800 of those have been approved. The majority of applications are from residents in the northern half of the state, and the average age is around 50. The most common condition among those 800 is chronic pain.
Advocates of the budding Arizona Medical Marijuana community are pleased with the current statistics. They believe that the current figures support that Arizona's Medical Marijuana program is legitimate and thus far not being abused.
