Another First for Colorado Medical Marijuana: Higher Education
Consistently at the forefront of innovation in the fledgling Medical Marijuana industry, Colorado continues forward by allowing certain Medical Marijuana related courses to be considered "higher education."
The Colorado Department of Higher Education has recently approved the medical marijuana cultivation courses, offered by Greenway University, as higher education. These courses are now the first and only of its kind to be approved on the state level. The university is well known for compliance oriented services it provides actively in both California and Colorado. Greenway University's goal is to validate the once scorned black market into a legitimate industry though proper education, technology, and professionalism.
The courses teach students all aspects of the industry, starting with proper compliance with respective state laws, basic and advanced cultivation techniques, as well as business fundamentals ranging from insurance coverage to point of sale solutions.
The ground breaking approval by the Colorado Department of Higher Education is one more positive step into national recognition of the benefits both medicinally for patients, and financially for governments of the Medical Marijuana Industry. As many of the remaining states ponder the acceptance of Medical Marijuana, acts such as the acceptance of higher education will only leverage the approval of Medical Marijuana through proper education and training.
