Comments (2)Well it's hard if you're already dependant on sleeping pills, though so far its not yet proven that cannabis can cure insomnia, but there is an explanation how cannabis helps you sleep but to cure insomnia I don't think so.
In my own experiences, cannabis does make you go to sleep and helps you stay asleep. Also you wake up, or at least I do, in a relatively good mood.
based on my own experienced, marijuana helps me with my imsomnia
more than anything else. believe me, it's way better than sleeping pills. it may
not work for everyone but it's a worth a try.
i for one can say that cannabis does help with insomia. It helps me to fall asleep quicker( instead of lying in bed mind racing thinking about whatever) and stay asleep( very vivid dreams) for more than 4-5 hours. If it was legal where i live I would pursue medical cannabis. Also It helps me to focus better in the day to day things( concentration, and motivation ). Because of the insomia I feel depressed alot it helps to put me in a better mood. Unfortunatly because of financial reasons I can't procure any its been a few months and my life and present job performance is suffering.
i agree, personally speaking, it cured my insomnia completely. i am no longer using it now because i have no more problems going to sleep.
yes it does make you sleep. unlike sleeping pills, it won't make you groggy in the morning. cannabis works really good but just too expensive for long term use.
hi, been wondering about this too since i've been facing the same problem as yours. never tried taking sleeping pills though. i hope someone here can give relevant information about marijuana for insomnia.
as far as i know, insomnia is not a disease. it is just a symptom of sleep disorder. i don't think you need to take cannabis just to have a good night sleep. the best remedy will still be the one prescribed by your doctor.
agree sherwin, its not a disease but in a other hand there is no need to consult a doctor though. just put a little consideration on yourself. don't fight your body if your sleepy. it will lapse your sleeping time period. if its occur then go to sleep. by and by you will be able to sleep as long as you practice to sleep on a right matter and time.
I completely disagree with you, no offense intended. I have been suffering from insomnia for more than 5 years. I even thought it was actually normal for it to take up to 3 hours to fall asleep, sometimes even more. I agree that you can practice sleeping, that is considered part of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but that did not work for me. For chronic insomnia, there is no right matter and time. That is the main problem. You can feel as tired as possible and your mind just won't shut off. I have tried everything: mild sleep deprivation, CBT, stimulus control, sleep hygiene modification, etc. The only thing I have not tried is hypnotism, because I am quite skeptical about it.
For those wishing to cure their insomnia or at least reduce it, I recommend researching non-pharmacological remedies like the ones I mentioned above. Psychologists are very insightful. Also, there are some plants that help, when you take them as tea, such as the California Puppy.
I'm close to giving up... but I refuse to take pills. Been smoking for years.
Pro's: It makes you feel very relaxed. You will still have racing thoughts, but you will feel tired and you will be able to fall asleep faster.
Con's: It makes it more difficult for me to wake up in the morning. Sometimes I don't notice when my alarm goes off. It sometimes gives me headaches and makes me feel tired the next day.
For those of you who want to know if marijuana helps, the answer is simple. It depends... Depends on the strain, depends on how it affects you. But it's definitely worth trying.
i have practiced every sleep possiblities there is and none have worked. i found that marijuana works great wonders for my insomnia.. the sleeping pills my doctor gave me just made me dependent on the and gave me a real bad case of depression
Agreed 100%. People that don't suffer from it just don't understand how it feels... And also, there are different types of insomnia. Falling asleep is just one of them, and it's the one I suffer from. It is extremely frustrating... and marijuana does help. At least more than anything else.
