I've heard that marijuana can relieve eye condition such as glaucoma. I have this kind of condition and wanted to try marijuana for my medication but then I still have this second thought if it's really safe? |

Comments (2)The number of significant side effects generated by long-term oral use of marijuana or long-term inhalation of marijuana smoke make marijuana a poor choice in the treatment of glaucoma, a chronic disease requiring proven and effective treatment.
Hmmm i think it can relieve but to cure? I don't think so. As long as this is strongly prescribe then I would take it without asking if its safe.
i don't think it would cure glaucoma since i have one and been using cannabis for it. but i do admit that it lowered the pressure and the pain in my eyes. still, it makes sense.
If I were you you should consult an eye specialist if it was okay to take marijuana for treatment of your glaucoma. So that you would be able to get rid the complication by using marijuana for treatment.
I'm not so sure about this. Studies show that marijuana is not that effective against glaucoma. But I guess its effects varies for each person.
It is most likely a vice where you have to smoke so your condition would be somehow relieved. The problem is that if you don't have the control on it, it will become an addictive attitude or a hobby.
Agree with you. It's seems new to me. I've been searching article about marijuana and gather information regarding this one. Thanks for the information.
I have been using Medical Marijuana for Glaucoma for about a year now, it certainly reduces my symtoms, the down side is you are most likely smoking something that is more harmful then smoking a cigarette. Recently I have switched to buying food products containing THC so I don't have to smoke it. The quality varies but it's more comfortable for me knowing I am not harming my lungs.
i just wanted to know if marijuana can really treat glaucoma or just reduces it's symptoms.. my sister's been facing this problem.. any advice you could give would be of much appreciated. btw, my sister is only 17 years old..
It helps for some sort of physical or psychiatric condition. Just bear in mind to overuse it even if it's a herbal medicine, it is still addictive.
marijuana has been popular by means of treating glaucoma.i'm not quite sure about this, but wether true or not,it's still drugs.so if this is your way of treating glaucoma, just make sure to use it in moderation.
If you are in medication using this medical cannabis it should be prescribe by your doctor. And they will give you a certain amount for you to take.
definitely true! but for countries wherein marijuana is legal, people who uses it to treat glaucoma or any other medical condition may tend to use it as well for other purposes. that is because they can get it anytime they want.
